A Pumpkin Beer Worth Drinking

Last month I celebrated my 12th wedding anniversary (17 together). We ended up in St. Augustine and if you never have been it is a really cool place filled with history and cool little bars with awesome beer. I love a good craft beer but I do have the same love for those crazy floral like hops. They scream instant headache for me so my husband and I tend to go for the porters and stouts. When I find a good one I like to share.

SO at this little bar off St George’s street has this excellent selection of beers. First walking in you might be inclined to turnaround, don’t instead look up. They have all the beer taps they have had on stuck in the ceiling and they are good ones. Then there is a chest of awesomeness. Here my husband found a beer that only makes 18 pony kegs to hand out and has only an 8oz pour, but it was worth it. My first beer was an awesome one as well which was St. Peter’s Cream Stout. A nice dark thick pour and well it’s a great stout.

So now back to that pumpkin beer. I love the fall and yes I like pumpkin beer but I am picky. For this reason I don’t usually buy it because I get disappointed and then I am stuck with 5 beers in the back of the fridge taking up space. The bartender suggested this beer after my husband ordered his and I had to try it. So I order the Imperial Pumpkin Smash by Crown Valley Brewing, even with a 10+% alcohol. It was delicious! Really good.So good we went back that night and I had another one. I told my husband I wanted it for Thanksgiving dessert. It is worth a try if you can find it. I was lucky and found it at a local store and bought two 4packs. Hopefully one will make it till November but I am skeptical if I can keep them all around that long.

For those who love pumpkin beer this is the best…ever! be careful though has over 10% alcohol.
